In the Parents section, Useful Information page we have placed a letter setting out the return to school procedures for pupils and parents. The school is planning for all pupils to return as whole classes from P2 - P7.
Nursery and P1 parents will have separate details sent by email regarding the starting dates and groups.
Please contact the school by email for further information.
The P7 Leavers' Video can be viewed in The Gallery Section of the school website...we hope you enjoy watching it!
The staff of Comber Primary School would like to thank those parents who contributed to the collection for new gifts for the staffroom. Our new coffee machine will be in high demand come September and there will be no more queues for the microwave now that we have a second one!
Your kindness and thoughtfulness at this time is greatly appreciated.
We would like to thank all of the parents of our pupils for their kind words and emails over these past few months and for all of the time and effort given in supporting the learning of our pupils.
Comber Primary School Sports Day
Comber Primary School Sports Day is traditionally held in June. Some of our pupils took part in the Virtual Sports Day, but we would like to encourage all of our children to take part in some activities together this final week of term.
In your packs on Monday 22nd June, there will be a sports day badge and a certificate. To earn these, pupils should consider taking part in any five of the following activities, one for each day of the week (you can do more if you wish).
Measure out a distance of approx. 10m. This could be in your garden, the street or in a green space. KS1 pupils could complete 4 reps, while KS2 pupils could complete 8 reps.

How many star jumps can you complete in 20 seconds? Repeat the challenge and see if you can beat your score
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JNrkzkckZN4
Can you run across your garden with an egg and spoon? Don’t drop the egg – you will have to go back to the start! (Probably best to hard boil your egg first 😊)
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Fun_19wdQ_M
How far can you throw a welly boot (or an old shoe)? Use an old pair of socks to mark the distance…can you beat your throw? Be careful of the windows!!

Can you design an obstacle/novelty race in your garden? Use any garden or sports equipment that you have. Try and make your race as interesting as you can!
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KPKuOUWhXJw
Can you go for a long run? KS1 could try and run for 3 minutes without stopping; KS2 could aim for 5 minutes without stopping. If you enjoy this challenge, can you run for longer?

Walking is great exercise – could you go on a family walk around Comber? (As you’re doing so much exercise, you’re allowed an ice lolly from the garage!)

You could go for a cycle ride, or go out on your scooter. Remember to stay safe and be aware of traffic at all times – take an adult with you. Remember our school rule – you must wear your helmet!

Dancing is great fun – turn the music up loud and have a disco! Here area few of our CPS disco favourites and their dance routines:

You will need a start line and an old pair of socks. Place both feet on the start line, bend your knees and jump as far forward as you can. Use your old socks to mark where you landed. Can you beat your jump over five goes?

It would be lovely to see photos and videos of our children taking part in their activities. Maybe you could even take a picture of your own award ceremony at the end of the week and email them to your class teacher.
All pictures and videos received will appear on the 'Virtual Sports Day' link that can be found on the 'Children' tab on the home page.
Good luck everyone 😊
Good luck to any of our pupils who are taking part in the Virtual Sports Day today. Please do let us know how you are getting on.
You can email any photos or videos to: cbradley874@c2kni.net and they will then appear on our website.
From Monday 8th June, to further support parents, the home school work set by teachers and posted on the class pages of the website will also be printed out and able to be collected.
Parents or guardians may come from 9.30 - 12 noon on Monday 8th June and each Monday following in June to collect envelopes of home school work instead of printing the material from the website.
Please also take a data capture form for 2020-21 and return it when you are able to the school office in a sealed envelope. This will aid us in getting information about the new school year to parents promptly.
Please stay safe while collecting the packs by observing social distancing rules and being patient. If you are unable to collect the pack or have it collected on your behalf, please contact Mr Logan by email.
For all those in P6 who are currently working on AQE material, we have created an AQE folder on the P6 page to give you some more guidance and support at this challenging time.
Follow this link below to go to the folder.
