  • Big Pedal Week 1 Update

    Fri 22 Apr 2016

Great work by all those who have made the most of the weather this week.  In total we have had 163 cycles/scoots to school this week.

A special well done to P4 who are currently well in the lead to win the top year group prize.

Well done to P4D who had a total of 12 children cycling and scooting to school on Friday.  Enjoy your cycling prizes.

Remember The Big Pedal continues next week with the start of P4 Cycle skills on Wednesday 27th April and The Big Pedal breakfast on Friday 29th April.   Don't forget to come every day to get your cycling ticket and fill in your sheet at home to get house points!

Can we beat our amazing total of 163 in week 2?

    Good luck

  • The Big Pedal 2016

    Mon 18 Apr 2016

Monday 18th April sees the start of The Big Pedal.  It runs from Monday 18th April to Friday 29th April.  This is the largest inter-school cycling and scooting challenge that inspires pupils to choose two wheels for their journey to school.  We will be competing against thousands of other schools right across the UK.  Can we come out as the top cycling school in Comber?

Anyone from P4-7 can take part.  Please return the reply slip on the note received in school to Mr Pinkerton if you want to take part at any time.

    Important Information

    • Your child must have a bike or scooter that is in full working order.

    • Your child MUST wear a helmet when cycling- No helmet=no cycling.

    • All bikes and scooters MUST be locked up in the bike shed or bike pods.

    • The school can take no responsibility for any lost or damaged bikes.

    • Bikes and scooters should be brought home at the end of each day.

There are some great prizes on offer which are being supplied by Sustrans.

    • Two lucky children in each year group will win either a brand new cycle helmet, bike lock or pump.

    • There will also be prizes for the year group that has the highest number of children cycling/scooting to school at the end of the second week.

    • If you take part at any time you will receive house points.  Ten cycles will give you 10 house points!

So why not take part in this great event.  Keep safe if cycling.
