At our harvest service Comber Primary School said 'goodbye' to Mrs Simpson who is retiring after twenty years working as a lunchtime supervisor. Mrs Simpson will be greatly missed by all pupils and staff and we wish her a happy, relaxing and fun retirement.
P7 pupils Sam Cree, Sara Marks and Alex Watson shared their memories of Mrs Simpson and presented her with a card and flowers.
Harvest 2017
On Thursday 19th October, we met together as a school to celebrate Harvest. We were entertained by the Key Stage 2 choir who sang 'Desert Song' and 'Thrive' and the P4 children who sang 'It's Harvest Time'. Children from P3-7 led our service which had a focus on The Trussell Trust who run Foodbanks throughout The U.K. As a school we have collected lots of donations of food which will be given to our local foodbank in Newtownards. A huge 'THANK YOU' to every pupil, parent and friend of CPS for their generous and kind donations.
To all parents.
The school and Nursery unit will open again on Wednesday 18th October.
Breakfast club will also open as well.
The school photographer will be in all day from early morning to get group family shots for those families with children not at Comber Ps. She can be found in the library from approximately half past eight. She will return again on Friday morning to make up for missing the Tuesday session. Classes due to go swimming on Friday will have photos taken on Wednesday.
The football match scheduled should also go ahead.
The Time to Read meeting will also take place as planned.
Many thanks for for your understanding over the past days.
Chris Logan
The Education Department has advised all schools to remain closed again on Tuesday 17th October. Thanks to all parents for their patience. I hope that school will be open on Wednesday but I will post on this page again tomorrow to confirm that. This means that the planned P2 trip to Mount Stewart will not go ahead.
Can I also note that I expect school photos to go ahead on Wednesday as planned and the football match as well.
Please check this page for details.
Many thanks, Chris Logan
To all parents. Please note that due to the weather forecast for Monday 16th October the Education Department has advised all schools in Northern Ireland to close for safety reasons.
Therefore Comber Primary School and Nursery Unit will be closed all day Monday. No children should attend.
Please feel free to pass this message onto all friends with children at the school or Nursery.
Apologies for the lateness of the message but the advice came at 11pm this evening.
School should reopen open on Tuesday- please look on this page for information if unsure.
keep safe - Chris Logan
Today the pupils from P2-P7 watched M & M Theatrical Productions present the 'The Hunchback of Notre Dame'.
There was plenty of audience participation from clapping and singing along to jeering! All pupils enjoyed the way in which the "hilarious" actors portrayed a very meaningful message...
'It does not matter what you look like from the outside, all that matters is that you are brave and show others the good heart you have on the inside.'
Teacher-led after school clubs (and Dance) for P5-7 pupils will commence this week 2nd October and run for 8 weeks. (Excluding Week of 23rd October for Parent Interviews). Clubs will finish at 3:40 p.m.
