  • Be Bright Be Seen Walking Bus

    Mon 18 Nov 2019

    Dear Parent

We are holding a special active travel walking bus event called Ditch the Dark on Friday 22nd November.  The theme is Be Bright, Be Seen. We are encouraging children to walk to school on the walking bus in as bright an outfit as possible.  So get out all your bright items and find a way to wear them over your uniform.

    Some suggestions you can consider

    • Decorate your schoolbag so it is really bright.
    • Wear glowsticks, reflectors, fluorescent orange socks, a pink tutu, a neon green wig or even just a bright jacket – The brighter the better!
    • Any bright items of clothing being worn will need to be removed once in school.

Everyone in P4-7 who takes part will receive a house point and everyone will get a walking sticker.

The walking bus will start at 8.25am from each of the 3 locations stated below.  Please see the school website for more info and a map showing each route.

Route 1- Beginning at Castle Hill with Mrs Hoey.

Route 2 -  Beginning at Copeland Walk with Mr Bradley.

Route 3 -  Starting at Cherryvalley Drive with Mr Pinkerton

If your child is on the walking bus they must be accompanied by a parent or guardian for the whole journey if they normally do not walk on their own.

This should be a fun walk to school.  Please try to take part as the more people walking means we will reduce the number of car journeys which is important.  Let’s see how many people we can get on each route.
