On Thursday 19th October, we met together as a school to celebrate Harvest. We were entertained by the Key Stage 2 choir who sang Desert Song and Thrive and the P4 children who sang 'It's Harvest Time'. Children from P3-7 led our service which had a focus on The Trussell Trust who run Foodbanks throughout The U.K. As a school we have collected lots of donations of food which will be given to our local foodbank in Newtownards. A huge 'THANK YOU' to every pupil, parent and friend of CPS for their generous and kind donations.

Harvest Assembly 2015
On Thursday 15th October, we held our in-house Harvest Assembly for P1-7. The theme of our assembly was Water and the money we had collected for Charity in October was being presented to WaterAid. Frank Stewart from WaterAid joined us for our assembly and spoke to us about the work they do and about his time volunteering in Africa. The P4 and P5-7 choir sang to us and Mrs Robinson's drama group performed a little sketch about life for Anita in Nepal. A huge thank you to all the families in Comber Primary School as we handed over a grand total of £400 to Frank towards the work of WaterAid. We hope you enjoy looking at the photos and videos from the assembly and thank you to all the children who took part so willingly.
Some pictures from our Harvest Assembly where Mary Allen from the charity Storehouse came to talk with us. Over 700 items were donated by the school to Storehouse - a fantastic effort. Thank you all the mums and dads for being so generous. Casey is there to represent Mrs Shaw's class who were the top givers - with Casey leading the way!
Well done to the choir, the P4 children and the instrumentalists!
collected every Wednesday.
All contributions, however small are gratefully received!
On Friday 30th May, Amy Weir, Cara Watkins, Georgia Haire, Alaia Oscoz, Rosie McCullough (P6), Holly McCullough and Jessica Wilson (P4) set up a sale to raise money for Diabetes NI. The final total was an amazing £262.59 on the day with the hope of selling more bracelets to friends in the coming weeks. The girls worked very hard in preparation for the sale and it definitely paid off. Thank you to all who bought a bun, band or bracelet and to the donations made.
The total amount raised at our Harvest Collection was £293.60.
Thank you for your generosity.
The money will go to The Trussell Trust. (Our local food bank)
