Tuesday 26th January
Morning Check in on Seesaw – this will be going live at 9 a.m., but don’t panic, you have all day to respond.
Phonics – Our sound of the week is ‘t’ with variations t/tt/ed/bt. Tuesday’s task in your booklet is a See It Right which we do in class. Maybe you could play 10 minutes of Nessy also?
Tables –I will post on Seesaw your tables which you can write down and try and then you can mark them yourself using the marking slide…no cheating. You are then going to learn dividing by 10 for tomorrow from your table page.
Literacy – Irregular Past Tense Verbs
Today’s lesson is very similar and again just building up your vocabulary of past tense verbs. There are a few games for you to play below and there is also a game in your work pack you could play at home. Play some of the games below before trying your work for today.
Also have a look at this video – it’s the middle word each time which is the past tense of the verb we need for our work this week. There is also a PPT which you can play and orally call out the past tense verbs and click to see if you’ve got it right.
Remember: Spelling is important and your verbs MUST be accurate, so please check your spelling using a dictionary/google or ask someone at home. J
You may want to play this KAHOOT first to help you practice.

Numeracy – Continue Grid Multiplying
We’re going to continue grid multiplication again today. If you think you need more practice, use yesterday’s PPT again, but I think we’ve got it. You can also look back at the explanation video on SEESAW from yesterday too.
Please, please…PLEASE do a vertical addition sum to add your numbers together.
Complete your work for today.
P.E. – BBC Winter Sports Programme 1
Today we’re going to start a three week BBC radio programme on Winter Sports. Today’s programme focuses on Snow Sports and you may need to pause throughout the programme when asked to do so and it lasts around 20-30 minutes depending on how long you pause for. The children enjoy these in school each year and I hope the children enjoy them at home also.
I know it’s not ideal, however hopefully they’ll give it a go. At times they may be asked to partner up etc, but I’m sure they could improvise.
The first session explores snow sports dance-sequences, with snowboarding and a slalom-skiing race. The slalom skiing race asks the children to sit in a class circle and weaving in and out of it. Maybe they could set up some cuddly toys at home in a circle and use this instead.
Well done for completing Tuesday’s activities. Rest up for another day of fun activities tomorrow and maybe do some reading if you can to finish your afternoon! J
