Thursday 25th February

Thursday 25th February

Morning Check in on Seesaw – this will be going live at 9 a.m., but don’t panic, you have all day to respond.

Phonics – Our sound of the week is i/y/ie/ui/e/u Thursday’s task is a cloze procedure and wordsearch for Giants, Dragons and Unicorns and a wordsearch for the Tigers.

Tables –I will post your tables on SEESAW which you can write down and try and then you can mark them yourself using the marking slide…no cheating.

Reminder: I’d like you to complete a Friday Assessment tomorrow which is in your home learning pack. I will call out your spellings on Seesaw – make sure you do the correct group. So spend some time learning your spellings and revising ALL your dividing tables. You’ll also have some contractions and work on brackets and seesaw equations.

Literacy – Apostrophe for Contraction

Today is your final lesson on using an apostrophe for contractions. Please remember to leave a gap underneath the apostrophe and don’t join the letters all up together.

Have a little look at the PPT below to help you revise a little more of your work for today and check out the extension activity which you may enjoy. You can find the card, paper and ribbon in your pack for this week.

Extension: Make a contraction kite

You will find your diamond, page and ribbon in your pack.

Choose contraction of your choice and follow the instructions below to make your contraction kite.

Be creative and have fun! Put this somewhere in your house to remind you of using the apostrophe for contractions.J

Take a photo of you and your kite and send it to Mrs Boyd on SEESAW!

Numeracy – SEESAW equations continued!

Today you’re going to continue your work on balance equations. You may have a little more with brackets in them today, but you can DO it!

Check SEESAW for some more explanations for today and if you haven’t played the Kahoots from yesterday, give them a little go today! J

Topic (WAU) – Life Cycles of Butterfly/Frog

You’ve been looking at The Water Cycle this week which is a constant cycle of water being reused over and over again.

A lot of things in life are based on continuous cycles. Today I’d like you to revise the life cycle of the butterfly and the frog. There are two videos you can watch below which will revise these stages with you, as I know you’ve looked at life cycles in P2/3. Have a look at the following websites to learn the important words you need to know for labelling your worksheet. Then you can colour them in.

You will also have some SEESAW activities going live today.
