Wednesday 10th February
Morning Check in on Seesaw – this will be going live at 9 a.m., but don’t panic, you have all day to respond.
Phonics – Our sound of the week is ‘n/nn/kn/gn’. Wednesday’s task is to complete your 6 spelling sentences like you would normally do as homework on a Wednesday. You can use your phonics book which you should have at home in your schoolbag.
Tables – I will post on Seesaw your tables which you can write down and try and then you can mark them yourself using the marking slide…no cheating. You are then going to learn dividing by 9 for tomorrow from your table page.
Literacy- More work on finding Adverbs
We’re going to continue finding adverbs in sentences again today. Watch the video below and then go through the PPT to practise finding adverbs before trying your work for today.
You may also like to log into Studyladder to play some Adverbs games there too. Look for the Term 2a: Adverb Pod when you sign in.
Numeracy – RUSCAC – Sort the problems and solve!
Today’s Numeracy lesson resources, you should find it your pack. It is an A3 page with a grid on it and a page of word problems for you to cut out. You will also need your booklet with the page Wednesday 10th February on it for answering 4 of your problems.
Remember to check in on SEESAW for an explanation to help you out a little with this activity today.

2.Next, I’d like you to cut out your word problem cards and sort them into your grid.
Squares & Triangles – You have a Venn diagram, so think carefully. You have both circles, the overlap in the middle and the outside of the Venn diagram as options.
Circles – You have a grid with all the operations listed at the top.
3.Once you have sorted the word problems, choose 4 of these and try to answer them by using RUCSAC to help you solve them and the next page in this booklet for showing your working out.
Topic (WAU) – Make a poster/presentation
You have Wednesday and Thursday to do this!
This week brings us to the end of our topic of Early Man. We have looked at both the Mesolithic and Neolithic periods of time and learned lots of new things and even had our wonderful Stone Age Day in school in December, when we all dressed up.
For your topic lessons today and tomorrow, I’d like you to make a poster/presentation (your choice) about things you have learned linked to the topic.
It could be information about the topic, things you enjoyed learning about the topic, as long as it’s linked.
It should include text and pictures. You may be able to use some photos of you from Stone Age Day if you have them.
For completing this task, it’s up to you to choose and dependent on the options you have at home. You could use one of the following for your poster/presentation:
Be creative and have some fun. Remember you have two afternoons allocated for this, so take time to plan it using the planning page attached and then make your poster/presentation. Remember you have your topic book at home with lots of facts in it.
I look forward to seeing them so please make sure to send these on SEESAW and then I can share them with everyone on the website.
(If you’ve made a presentation, you will have to email this to me instead of sending on SEESAW - hboyd380@c2kni.net)
Well done for completing Wednesday’s activities. Rest up for another day of fun activities tomorrow and maybe do some reading if you can to finish your afternoon! J
