Tuesday 9th February

Tuesday 9th February

Morning Check in on Seesaw – this will be going live at 9 a.m., but don’t panic, you have all day to respond.

Phonics – Our sound of the week is ‘n/nn/kn/gn’. Tuesday’s task in your booklet is to colour the right word in the See it Right Activity. Maybe you could play 10 minutes of Nessy also?

Tables –I will post on Seesaw your tables which you can write down and try and then you can mark them yourself using the marking slide…no cheating. You are then going to learn dividing by 8 for tomorrow from your table page.

Literacy – Finding adverbs

Yesterday we were learning a little about adverbs.

Adverbs can tell us how, when, where and how often something happens. Look at the list of adverbs in the picture to the right.

Lots of adverbs end in –ly and you were practising the spelling rules for these yesterday. However, there are some adverbs that don’t end in –ly and of course not all words that end in –ly are adverbs, for example, Emily we know is a noun.

Watch the following videos to help you try to find adverbs in sentences and got through the PPT and video which will help you practise finding adverbs in sentences before trying your work for today.

Numeracy – Revising all written calculations

Today, I’d like you to spend some time revising how to complete written addition, subtraction and multiplication calculations.

Watch SEESAW this morning for a little recap of these and then try your work for today, making sure you set your work out carefully and clearly.

Watch the little numbers you carry over in addition/multiplication and the crossing out in subtraction.

You may like to play some ‘Hit the Button’ games to build up your mental maths' skills of addition/subtraction number bonds and tables before giving your work a go for today.

U.I.C.T. – Safer Internet Day

Today, I’d like you to focus on Safer Internet Day and think about ways we can keep safe on the Internet.

The theme for this year is: “An Internet We Trust”.

Can we always trust things we read, see or hear on the Internet?

Open the PPT below and follow the slides thinking carefully about the options.

You’ll need the Appendix 1 and Appendix 2 as you go through the PPT which are in your pack.

I will also be posting two activities in SEESAW Activities on Tuesday, one of which has a virtual assembly for you to watch at some time on Tuesday and an activity you can respond to after watching the video and assembly so please check these out for your main focus on today's Safer Internet Day lesson.

I’d love to share these on the school website, so complete it as carefully and accurately as you can and be creative! JI have also given you a word search and colouring page.

Please, please …PLEASE take some time out today to think about how we can make the Internet a safer place and somewhere we trust!

Well done for completing Tuesday’s activities. Rest up for another day of fun activities tomorrow and maybe do some reading if you can to finish your afternoon! J
