Monday 8^th March

Morning Check in on Seesaw – this will be going live at 9 a.m., but don’t panic, you have all day to respond. Don’t forget pack pick up today is from 9 a.m. – 10:30 a.m. and we would like you to wear a mask when doing so.

Phonics – Our sound of the week is ‘l’ and your variations are l/ll/le/el/al/ol/il/ul. Monday’s phonics task will be your sound sort and these are your spellings for the week. Maybe while you’re waiting for your pack, you could play 10 minutes of Nessy?

Tables – For tables today I’d like you to revise dividing by 10/100 similar to today’s Numeracy work.   

Literacy – Homophones

This week, we’re going to continue to look at homophones/homonyms. These are words which sound exactly the same when you say them, but they are spelt differently and have very different meanings.

There are so many of these words and we need to continue to practise them to build up our vocabulary knowledge of them.

Numeracy – Dividing by 10 and 100

Today in Numeracy I’d like you to learn about dividing any number by 10 and 100. When we are dividing numbers by 10 we need to move the numbers over one space to the right and the 0 or two 00 disappear on the other side of the decimal point. Have a little look at the following videos which will help you understand this a little better. I think the little girl in the video explains it probably better than I can….you may remember her from multiplying by 10 and 100! (Just remember we call the ones column units) J

P.E. – Alphabetix

For this Half-term, we’re going to be thinking about Alphabetix. You had a poster in last week’s pack which you need to keep somewhere safe, as you’re going to need it for the next few weeks. J

Alphabetix is an active programme designed by Activity Northern Ireland where each letter of the alphabet is represented by an action/activity. For today I’d like you to watch the two videos below and try to focus on the two words: ANIMALS and GARDEN!

Your extra challenges today: Can you spell your favourite animal/your pet’s names in exercises and something that you can do outside!
