Monday 15th March

Monday 15th March

Morning Check in on Seesaw – this will be going live at 9 a.m., but don’t panic, you have all day to respond. Don’t forget pack pick up today is from 9:30 a.m. – 11:30 a.m. and we would like you to wear a mask when doing so.

Phonics – Our sound of the week is ‘wh’ and your variations are w/wh. Monday’s phonics task will be your sound sort and these are your spellings for the week. Maybe while you’re waiting for your pack, you could play 10 minutes of Nessy?

Tables – For tables today I’d like you to revise dividing by 6/7 with remainders.

Literacy – To, two and too

We have been looking at homophones over the last couple of weeks and we’re going to spend some time looking at grammar homophones which are important for you to know.

Today’s are to, two and too. I know you do these in P3 and P4, but it’s important for us to revise these in P5 also. Have a look at the following videos and PPT before trying your work for today. You may also like to look at the following games:

Numeracy – Written Division

Today in Numeracy we’re going to begin looking at written division. We’re going to need the work we did last week on remainders and please don’t panic. I know this is new, but I am here to help you if I can, so PLEASE send me a note on SEESAW if you need a further explanation. It is important to check in on SEESAW this morning for a teaching video on written division to help you out.

Once you’ve watched the video on SEESAW, I’d like you to do some more practice before trying your work for today. Find your whiteboard or a blank page and work through the following PPT practising this new method of dividing, remembering that practice makes perfect and perseverance is key.

P.E. – Alphabetix

For this Half-term, we’re going to be thinking about Alphabetix. You had a poster in last week’s pack which you need to keep somewhere safe, as you’re going to need it for the next few weeks. J

Alphabetix is an active programme designed by Activity Northern Ireland where each letter of the alphabet is represented by an action/activity. For today I’d like you to spell your name and MRS BOYD. There are no videos for today, but use your poster to help you and remember to do 10 reps for each letter.

If you’re not up to some Alphabetix today, why don’t you go for a walk, cycle or scoot instead. Be active and get outside! J

Well done for completing Monday’s activities. Rest up for another day of fun activities tomorrow and maybe do some reading if you can to finish your afternoon! J
