The last day of The Big Pedal is , Friday 4th May. P4-7 join Mr Pinkerton and Mr Bradley in the canteen for a free breakfast of pancakes and a drink at the Biker Breakfast from 8.10-8.40am. The forecast is to be dry so why not take part on the last day. There is also a house point, entry to the prize draw and also a prize for everyone who cycles or scoots to the Biker Breakfast.
Our current total
Leading into the final day it is great to say that we have beaten last year's total and we are on 322 cycle journeys. Can we reach 350+ journeys which would be an amazing achievement.
Thanks to all those who have taken part so far and let's see if we can end this year's challenge with a massive total.
Mr Pinkerton
There is space for about 60 bikes and scooters in school so we have plenty of room for many more children travelling by bike and scooter. If the weather is good why not take part? This is open to any child in P4-7. Can we reach 40+ journeys on Thursday? Let's make a big effort to try and reach this total.
Please remember to lock up your bike or scooter as we have had a couple of bikes left in the bike shed unlocked.
Please note that there will be no teacher-led clubs (including Wednesday’s Dance Club) for P5-7 this week unless arranged by individual teachers. Notes will be going home this week re. clubs for Term 3!
The Walking Bus is on again tomorrow from the same routes as last time. Last Thursday we had over 50 people on the bus. Can we beat that total this time around?
If it is wet in the morning the Walking Bus will not take place and children should come to school as normal.
P1-3 keep filling in your data sheet on how you travel to school.
Just a reminder that tomorrow is our PTA Fitness Day. Every class will be taking part in an active 20 minute session in the Assembly Hall.
Remember to wear appropriate clothing to school tomorrow. PE kit or sports gear is perfect to wear.
Keep collecting your sponsorship money. This can be brought into school any time from tomorrow onwards in a sealed envelope. Remember if you sponsor your child and pay tax remember to tick Gift Aid. We raised close to £2500 last year. How much can we raise this year? The money raised is going towards buying things which will enhance the teaching and learning in school.
Thanks for your support.
Mr Pinkerton and Mr Bradley
A reminder that this Thursday 8th March is Be Bright Be Seen Day. Encourage your child to come to school in bright clothes or outfit instead of your uniform. Prizes for brightest outfit in Nursery and P1, P2-4 and P5-7.
There is also a Walking Bus on Thursday 8th March starting at 8.25am on the 3 routes outlined on the website. Meet up with Mrs Hoey, Mr Bradley and Mr Pinkerton who will be leading the routes. Can we get 15+ people on each route? Try to make an effort to join the bus. House points and stickers for anyone who joins the Walking Bus.
This week your child will also be learning about safe travel through working on activities linked to our Translink Travel Challenge.
P-1to 3 keep filling in your transport data page at home each day. Try to travel less in the car if you can. Can you do more eco friendly journeys to school?
Thanks for taking part in these activities.
Mr Pinkerton and The Eco Council.
Hi everyone.
World Book Day will now be happening in school on Tuesday 6th March. All children can (if they want) come to school as a favourite literary character from Roy of the Rovers to Gangsta Granny!
Have fun!
Good morning everyone - Comber Primary will be open today.
All pupils, including the nursery, are to enter through the P4/P5 door. Any pupils attending Breakfast Club should do the same. We look forward to seeing you this morning.
Please take care as you travel to school.
