P5-7 Netball

2016-2017 Season

It has been a quiet season for the girls this year with very few schools willing to play friendly matches...we're all just so busy. We were delighted to arrange a friendly match against Killinchy Primary School n Thursday 1st June. 9 P7 netball girls travelled to Killinchy along with Miss McNeilly, Mrs Lindsay and a band of willing supporters. It was a super afternoon and some excellent netball skills were displayed. The final score was 14-12 to Killinchy - a tight game right to the end. Many Thanks to Mia's dad Hugh for the super photographs.

Friendly Matches with St. Mary's

On Tuesday 10th May St. Mary's Primary School in Comber came to play netball with us after school. It was a warm and sunny afternoon and we had lots of fun. The P4 girls came to watch us play and even got to have a go themselves.

Tournament at West Winds

On Wednesday 13th April, 9 keen P7 netballers, along with Miss Dorrian, Miss McNeilly and a few supporters travelled to the annual tournament at West Winds in Newtownards. It was a dull afternoon but the sport taking place was definitely not dull.

The girls were amazing….some excellent netball skills being displayed and impeccable manners. Shannon Savage even earned a House Point for helping a girl who had lost her shoe in the mud!!!!!

We drew our first match, won our second and drew our third match. Our final match of the group was the decider for who was going through to the final against a very strong team from The Model. We were 4-0 down with 2 ½ mins to go. The girls managed to fight back to a 4-3 defeat, scoring 3 goals in 2 ½ mins….a super effort and Miss Dorrian and Miss McNeilly were very proud.

It was a super afternoon of netball and fun frown

2015-2016 Netball Blitz

Two mixed teams of P7 pupils travelled to Bangor to take part in the annual Netball Blitz. Both teams were a credit to the school and behaved and played exceptionally well....even the boys! cheeky The referees from the day chose two players of the tournament, one from each team. From the Comber 1 team, Ewan McIlwrath was chosen for his amazing defending skills and jumping ability. From Comber 2, Becky Newell was picked. Becky played centre and was an important and valuable core player for her team. A huge well done to both teams.....a lot of games won on the day...and we may have converted a few boys to Netball.

Comber 1 love a wee selfie.......

Netball Prize Winners 2014-2015

The winners of the End of Year Netball prizes were Rhiannon Elder and Amy Minnis. These girls could not be separated for the prize in terms of their dedication, eagerness and skill as netball players throughout P6 and P7. Both girls have a natural talent for the game and are very deserving winners. Well done ladies....keep up the Netball next year.

End of Year Party...too many nice things to eat!

Netball Blitz Tournament

On Friday 24th April 14 boys and girls from P6/7 travelled to Bangor Aurora Leisure Centre for a mixed Netball Tournament. Both teams were hugely successful in the tournament and both cam runner up in their group stages. Well done to all.

While we were there, one team had the opportunity to try their skills at tag rugby and the other group had a go at sprinting and getting their time recorded with fancy technology. We hope you enjoy looking at our pictures.

Netball teams travel to Dundonald

On a bright and sunny 10th March, two netball teams travelled to Dundonald Primary School to play two friendly matches. The girls played outside with a slight breeze and the sun in their eyes and did a fabulous job. The 'B' team won 10-0 and the 'A' team 4-3. A special mention to Lauren and Georgia who scored 5 goals each on their debut for the school. Well done girls.
