Playscripts
Hello P7 – this week we are going to study playscripts. A playscript tells actors in a play or in a TV show/film what they have to say.
Watch the video below to explore the features of a playscript. There is a also a PowerPoint that explains what makes a playscript.
Below are two examples of a playscrip. Read through the playscripts and see if you can identify why a playscript is different than a novel. What features of a play script can you find? Maybe you could act out one of these two plays with your family members?
Here is one last playscript for you - The Story of Rama and Sita. Read through the play and then answer the comprehension questions that follow.

Once you’ve read the playscripts and fully explored the website, we’d like you to write your own playscript based on a fairytale. Some titles might include:
Or you can think of your own. Choose a fairytale that is simple and that you can tell without your playscript being too long.
