Your task is to complete a project on a country of your choice. It could be a country you used to live in; a country your family is from; a country you have visited on holiday; or a country that you just want to know a bit more about - the choice is yours!
You will need to use the internet and any books/magazines that you have at home to help you. Your project can be handwritten, or you can use a computer to present it in Word or Powerpoint etc.
Your project needs to be well presented and full of interesting and accurate information. You should include text and graphics (pictures, drawings, photos etc.) DO NOT just copy and paste from the internet - everything you write should be in your own words.
Remember - take your time and always do your BEST work! We hope you find this project interesting and enjoyable!
1. Location (1 - 2 pages)
Begin by explaining which country you have chosen and why. You will also need to include some maps in this section (2 minimum.) One map should show where your country is in the world and the other needs to be a larger and more detailed map of your country. You can use an atlas, the internet, reference books etc.
2. Fleg (1 page)
In this section, you should draw or print an image of your country's flag. Then write a bit about the flag's history and meaning.
3. Fascinating Facts.
You need to include some interesting facts about your country. These could include:
4. History and Famous people (1+ pages)
5. Weather (1-2 pages)
6. Customs, traditions and celebrations (1+ pages)
7. Food and Drink (1+ pages)
Find out if your country has a traditional dish and draw a labelled diagram of it. What type of foods and drinks are popular in your country? Think about how you could display this information in your project. You might like to write, draw, make a collage, include recipes etc.
8. Dress (1-2 pages)
Here, you should explain what people usually wear in your chosen country and why. (Is it for climate, traditional or religious reasons?) Maybe you could find out what is fashionable in your chosen country at the moment. Does your country have traditional costumes?
9. School (1-2 pages)
Find out what school is like in your chosen country. What is similar and different to your own experiences of school? Here are some points to consider:
10. Animals
Does your country have a national animal? Are there any animals that your country is famous for? E.g. Australia is well-known for kangaroos and koalas.
11. Sport and Entertainment
12. Famous Visitor Attractions
13. Other Information
If there is any other information about your chosen country that you would like to add to your project you may include it here. E.g. one possible example could be interesting or strange laws!
