Girls' Football

Our girls' football team played another friendly match this week against Brooklands. Both teams played well and it was great to see so many people there to support the teams. The girls really appreciate everyone taking the time to come and show their support.

Lots more games being planned over the next couple of months. Well done to the girls who continue to show progress as a team each week. Thanks to Mrs Kerr for coaching the girls. As always we are so proud of you all.

Netball

A massive well done to our Netball Squad who attended the Ards and North Down Netball Festival today held at Bangor Aurora.

This was for many of the girls, their first experience of competitive netball and they came away with 2 wins, a draw and a loss. We are so incredibly proud of all of them for playing so well together as a team and for their excellent sportsmanship.

Eco News - Clothes Bank Collection

This week our Eco Council are having a clothes bank clothes drop event in school. Lots of bags have been donated so far.

Our Eco Council are really enthusiastic and are doing lots around the school to help the environment. Thanks for your support.

Football 5-a-sides

A huge well done to our football team who were semi-finalists in this morning's Newtownards & District PSFA 5-a-side cup!

Lots of great football on show and you did us proud.

Accelerated Reader

All pupils in P4-7 have started their Accelerated Reader journey in Comber Primary School. We are so excited about this new venture for us as a school and had a very special assembly yesterday, where pupils were awarded with certificates for reaching 5, 10, 20, 30 and even 40 points for the last half term (October-December).

This is only a little snapshot of the success of this new venture, as many other children received certificates for reaching their own individual target also.

Watch this space as we start another half-term, striving to meet our own individual targets and maybe receive a ‘special’ points’ certificate in assembly.

It’s so lovely to see the children enthused about reading and recommending books to their peers.

P7 Choir in the Community

Our P7 choir are very busy this week spreading Christmas cheer throughout the town!

The choir thoroughly enjoyed their visit to Stepping Stones yesterday, where the residents joined us in a song to wish everyone a Merry Christmas!

The choir aren't finished just yet as they have visits to Mount Alexander and Weir Court booked in for this week.

We are so proud of our choir who are fantastic ambassadors for Comber Primary School!

P7 Athletics Squad @ North Down & Ards Competition

Last week our P7 Athletics Team participated in the Sports Hall Athletics event at Ards Blair Mayne Leisure Centre. The children performed really well and recorded some personal best scores. Well done everyone!

Charity Christmas Jumper Day

A massive thank you to all of our families for supporting Cancer Fund for Children yesterday. We raised lots of money for this fabulous charity and looked great in our Christmas attire.

Open Morning - P7 Helpers

A huge thank you to everyone who visited us today on our Open Day. There was a lovely buzz around school welcoming lots of new parents and children to Comber Primary School.

A special thank you and well done goes to our wonderful buddies who helped with tours, directed visitors or handed out story books. We are so proud of all of our children in CPS and how brightly they shine in many different ways.

P7 Decorate the CPS Christmas Tree for the Fair in the Square

We hope everyone enjoyed the Fair in the Square tonight! Here’s some of our P7s decorating the Comber Primary tree earlier!

Digital Leaders

The Digital Leaders had great fun yesterday afternoon having a play with our school microbits.

These are pocket sized computers which introduces children to how software and hardware work together using a fancy LED display.

They will continue their training in December and will be ready to bring the microbits to many different classes within CPS soon. They are currently planning fun lessons for P1-7 so that everyone gets a chance to experience this fancy new technology.
