Weekly Tables 11.05.20
We would like you to focus on two areas for your weekly tables this week. We have also given you a new Weekly Mental Maths written activity sheet to complete.
The first focus is to revise finding the perimeter of rectangles and squares.
The second focus this week is to revise over your properties of 2D shapes - numbers of sides/corners/lines of symmetry etc.
New Written Mental Maths
Usually in the Summer Term, we would give you some extra Mental Maths work to do at home to revise lots of the things you have learned during P5. We are going to start uploading these each week for you to try. Make sure only to do one section per day (the days are above each section). Give it a try before you ask for some help and if you're unsure of any of your Maths words, maybe you could look them up yourself to find the meaning.
Focus 1 - Revise perimeter of squares and rectangles
Ask someone at home to quiz you on mentally finding the perimeter of squares and rectangles.
E.G. - What is the perimeter of a square with sides 4cm? Answer 16cm
What is the perimeter of a rectangle which is 9cm by 3 cm? Answer 24cm
Focus 2 - Properties of 2D Shape
Ask someone at home to quiz you on the properties of 2D Shapes. Spend some time revising about 2D shapes before you let someone quiz you.
E.G. - How many sides does a hexagon have?
What do you call a shape with 3 sides?
How many lines of symmetry does a square have?
If no one at home can ask you some questions...have a go at taking this quiz
