New Topic – The Ancient Egyptians
Our new topic for May/June is ‘The Ancient Egyptians’. It is one of our favourite topics and we hope you will enjoy learning about it too. It may be a little different discovering this topic at home, but we hope that you will enjoy the activities we set for you every week and perhaps you could do a little research of your own.
When Mrs Boyd and Mrs Drysdale were in CPS, they had to make a project about Ancient Egypt. Perhaps you could keep all of your worksheets/activities together to make your own Egyptian project and maybe you can do some extra research of your own? We know you have lots of great ideas of your own too!
We have given you a few video links below which are crammed full of facts and information about Ancient Egypt to give you a little 'taster' of what is to come...it really is a fabulous topic!
Let's Get Creative - Egyptian Art Task!
A task you may like to complete this week linked to the landscape of Ancient Egypt is a ‘Pyramids at Sunset’ picture. The sunset can be created with paint, pastels or crayons. Follow the instructions and don’t forget to send us your pictures if you’ve had a go.
'Walk like an Egyptian' Dance Lesson
This is always on of our FAVOURITE lessons in school. We usually spend some time in P.E. lessons learning this dance and then perform it all together in the assembly hall. Perhaps you’d like to learn this dance and home and send us a video of you performing it? If we get enough videos…we may be able to create our own dance video of the dance. We know some of you are ‘camera shy’, but give it a go….you may even enjoy it!
