Numeracy Lesson 1
Adding on 11
Over the last few weeks we have been thinking about lots of mental maths strategies for adding and taking away. This week we are focusing on adding 11 and we can use our previous knowledge to help us complete this.
There are two steps when adding 11.
Step 1 is adding on 10 (if you are using your 100 square to help you) you can jump down one row.
Step 2 is adding on one to your answer from adding on 10.
For example
25 + 11
25 + 10 = 35
35 + 1 = 36
Complete the calculations on your activity sheet.
